• The room darkening fabric lets in a small amount of light and there is no glare on TV/screens. It gives a strong sense of privacy as shapes and light are barely perceived from the outside.
• Velvet has a luxurious character and can help glam up the look and style of a room but the soft material can also be used to create a cosy and relaxed space with a warm, comforting feel.
• Curtains can reduce solar heat and heat loss from draughty windows. For best results, hang them close to the window from floor to ceiling, and let them overlap the frame on the sides to minimise gaps.
• Curtains with heading tape allow you to hang the curtain directly on the curtain rod using the rod pocket or tabs. You can also hinge the curtain onto a track rail using gliders and hooks.
• Using gliders and hooks usually creates a more formal and dressed-up feel, where hardware is not visible.

• Unsure how many curtains you need? Multiply the rod/track width by 1.5 for a full look, or 2 for an extra full look. Then divide by the width of a single curtain and round up.
• Since the fabric will shrink when washing it is a good idea to wash the curtains prior to cutting/hemming.
• You can use SY iron-on hemming strip to shorten the curtains without sewing.
• Velvet can be prone to marks/creases. To remove them, iron the fabric with steam on the reverse side, then gently brush the pile where the mark/crease is to lift it.

• For a 280 cm curtain pair, use: 36 VIDGA gliders and hooks; 18 RIKTIG curtain hooks for pleating with VIDGA gliders and hooks; or 36 SYRLIG curtain rings with clips and hooks. Add more for fuller folds.
