Bring Retro Charm to Your Home Office Corner

Bring Retro Charm to Your Home Office Corner

If your workspace could use a bit of personality, a retro-inspired corner might be just the thing. Playful patterns, warm colours and nostalgic shapes can turn a dull desk setup into somewhere you actually enjoy spending time.

A home office does not need to feel clinical. The MICKE desk offers a compact, tidy base for work, with enough structure underneath to keep cables and folders out of sight, which matters in smaller Maltese apartments where every surface tends to multitask.

Add character on top with small, functional pieces. The SOLFÅGEL roll-up pencil case keeps pens and odds and ends contained rather than scattered across the desk, while a BLÅSKATA cushion cover on a nearby chair brings in that geometric, retro-leaning print without overwhelming the room. Together they give a work corner some warmth, especially useful during the cooler months when you are more likely to settle in for longer stretches at the desk.

Finishing touches for a cosier workspace

Once the desk itself feels right, think about what surrounds it. A SKÅLBODA armchair gives you somewhere comfortable to sit during a call or a reading break, which helps on long summer afternoons when stepping away from the desk chair for a while makes the heat more bearable.

Pair it with a DOMSTEN stool, handy as a side table for a coffee cup or a stack of notebooks, or as extra seating when someone joins you in a home office that doubles as a guest room. For video calls or detailed tasks, the LÅNESPELARE ring light with phone holder is a simple way to get better lighting without rearranging the whole room, useful in townhouses and maisonettes where natural light does not always reach every corner.
