In The Great Split, you will have to build the most prestigious collection of riches. The heart of the game is the separation of your hand of cards into two groups which you pass to the player on your left in a wallet, while you receive those from the player on the right. To create your hand of cards for the round, hold one set of cards from the player to your right and one of the sets that the player on your left gives back to you. Apply card effects to add Gems, Gold, Artwork or Rare Books to your collection they will provide you with prestige points depending on the type. Also, try to validate contracts with seals to get additional points at the end of the game. A game of The Great Split takes place over 6 rounds, each consisting of 5 phases: 1. Deal, where you receive 1 card from the deck. 2. Split, where you divide your hand of cards into 2 groups and trade them with the players sitting next to you. 3. Resolution, where you gain riches based on the cards in your hand after the Split phase and keep track of your total value of Prestige, Rare Books, Artwork, Gems, Gold and Seals on your board. 4. Market. During this phase, the current value of the Works of Art may increase. 5. End of round. Get ready for when the mid-game scores roll in. Manage your gold reserves wisely to gain further riches and make sure your collection is perfect! At the end of the game, Rare Books, Works of Art, Gems and Contracts will provide points differently. Depending on how you build your collection, different riches will have different values.
