Japanese designer Noboru Nakamura is the creative mind behind the success of the POÄNG armchair, launched in 1977. For the Nytillverkad collection, he has eliminated the headrest but the comfortable rocking function has not changed.

It is part of the Nytillverkad collection, which revisits some of the IKEA classics.
For the Nytillverkad collection, Noboru Nakamura eliminated the headrest. Now the armchair has a renewed, modern and compact appearance, but the rocking function and the comfort of the curved plywood structure have not changed.
The POEM armchair, later renamed POÄNG, was presented for the first time on the cover of our 1977 catalogue. At the time it was equipped with a headrest.
