El Grande - New Edition

This edition contains the expansions New Regency and Change of Power. El Grande is a famous strategic board game, originally published by the Hans im Glück publishing house. It was created by Wolfgang Kramer and Richard Ulrich and, for its innovative design and the depth of the strategies involved, it has won numerous awards including the prestigious Spiel des Jahres in 1996. The game is set in medieval Spain, during the 15th century, and players take on the roles of powerful lords, known as Great Ones, who compete for control of different regions of the country. The main objective is to accumulate points through managing knights and influencing various regions. During the game, players must carefully plan their moves, using power cards to determine the order of play and the number of knights to move across regions. There are also action cards that allow you to apply different tactics and strategies, such as changing the king's position or implementing special actions. Regions are evaluated periodically, awarding points to players based on their influence and majority of knights. Furthermore, there is a special area called “castle”, where players can hide their knights for bonus points. El Grande is known for its strategic depth, where players must balance expanding their power with managing limited resources and interacting with opponents. The competition to gain majority in regions and get bonus points makes the game addictive and challenging. It is a game of medium length, usually with a match lasting nine rounds. At the end of the ninth round, the player with the highest score becomes the winner of El Grande. This new edition adds 2 new mini expansions and additional action cards to the base game.
